Unmarked vessel detained for trespassing in Taiwan's restricted waters

The Coast Guard Administration says an unmarked vessel and its six crew
members are being detained for trespassing in Taiwan's restricted waters.

The vessel, which did not display a name, a registered home port, or ship
certificate and was spotted in waters some 20-nautical miles northwest of
Taoyuan's Yongan area.

The ship was intercepted the vessel around three nautical miles inside
Taiwan's restricted waters.

The Coast Guard Administration says about 500 thousand liters of fuel was
discovered onboard the vessel, personnel to suspect the boat was operating in
the area to refuel Chinese fishing vessels.

The six crew members were believed to be Chinese nationals, but officials say
they were not carrying any identification documents.

The unmarked vessel and its crew have been detain in the Port of Taipei for
further investigation.
