MRT Circle Line Entrance to Open at Banqiao Station

A new entrance for the Circular Line at Banqiao Station has been approved and
will be built near the East 1 entrance of Banqiao Railway Station.

According to the New Taipei Department of Rapid Transit Systems, the new
access point once completed will halve transfer walking time from 12 minutes
to just 5 minutes, benefitting some 30-thousand commuters daily.

Banqiao Station is a key transportation hub connecting Taiwan Railways,
Taiwan High-Speed Rail, the Taipei MRT Bannan Line, and the Circular Line.

But passengers say the current underground passageways are confusing and
inefficient.



Metro officials say the new entrance will be a three-story structure equipped
with elevators and escalators to improve accessibility.

The new facility is expected to open in 2027.
