President Lai Ching-te has ordered all party officials to help conduct policy briefings islandwide to promote the administration's policies.
DPP secretary-general Lin Yo-chang says while Lai is not on the list of speakers, Premier Chuo Rong-tai, DPP lawmakers, Cabinet members and experts will be invited to deliver the speeches.
Lin also says that the events are meant to directly communicate with the general public on the theme of national security and advancement.
In the instructions issued to local party offices, the DPP says it's necessary to explain to the people how the 2025 general budget passed by the opposition-majority Legislative Yuan has hindered government operations.
The move comes after the Legislative Yuan yesterday rejected the Cabinet's request for a revote on the budget plan and the amended Allocation of Government Revenues and Expenditures.
The opposition KMT and TPP have long criticized the Laiand his administration's maneuvers, saying that it knew the revote could not pass but pushed for it anyway to fuel momentum for large-scale recall campaigns.
