MODA: Digital ID Wallet Program to Begin This Month

The Ministry of Digital Affairs says a digital I-D pilot program will begin
this month.

The voluntary program allows individuals to store digital versions of their
ID cards, health insurance cards, and driver's licenses, but does not replace
physical documents.

MODA says the digital ID is designed to simplify ticket collection,
prescription pick-ups, and telecom services by allowing secure, mobile
verification, and users can also choose what information to share, reducing
privacy risks.

The ministry says the first phase, which begins late March, will focus on
identify verification for services like package pickup

And MODA says future medical applications require further review due to
health data privacy concerns.
