Taipei prosecutors have indicted 13 individuals, including Taiwanese actor Lee Wei, in connection with the death of a woman found at a Buddhist group's meeting place last year.
The charges include causing bodily injury resulting in death, complicity in causing such injury, and coercion.
Police discovered the woman, unresponsive, at a Da'an district residence in July 2024 following a tip.
An autopsy revealed she died from a condition caused by severe muscle damage..
Prosecutors allege the woman's death stemmed from conflicts within the group, culminating in her being forced to perform hundreds of daily prostrations.
