Taipei MRT Wenhu Line Sparked Due to Rodent Incident

Services have returned to normal on the Taipei MRT Wenhu Line...after a
sparking incident this morning caused by rat on the tracks.

According to Taipei Metro, the incident occurred around 8 AM between Songshan
Airport Station and Dazhi Station, in which a train passed over a rat ...
resulting in a power trip and minor sparking, but no explosion.

A closer examination of the affected train revealed a 20 cm-long rat carcass
lodged beneath it, which officials say likely made contact with both the
train body and the electrified rail, causing the short circuit.

Taipei Metro asks passengers to report any unusual incidents via the train
intercom, or by informing station staff.
