Taipei is extending its subsidy program for buildings damaged by a major earthquake last year.
The city government says the April 3rd earthquake caused structural damage to some buildings in Taipei, and those requiring repairs were classified as yellow or red.
The subsidy program offered up to $400-thousand NT for yellow-tagged buildings, and up to $500-thousand for red.
The city secured a total of $112-million NT to fund the program.
And officials say the financial assistance plan will now be extended until the end of this year, to benefit more residents and ease the financial burden of repairs.
