MND: China Encircled Taiwan With Aircraft and Ships

The Ministry of National Defense says that China's military conducted drills
near Taiwan on Wednesday, with 35 aircraft and six ships detected around the
island.

Twelve of the aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait,
including drones along the east coast and a support plane off the
southeastern shore.

Analysts believe the drill was routine, as there was no accompanying
propaganda, often a hallmark of China's political messaging.

Experts also dismissed links to Taiwan's delegation attending events during
Donald Trump's inauguration, calling their visit uneventful.

The MND noted that similar PLA exercises have occurred regularly since
February 2024, with three to five drills per month.
