All four defendants involved in the Core Pacific City corruption case, including former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-zhe, have appealed their detention without communications.
Core Pacific Group chair Shen Qing-jing, Taipei City Councilor Angela Ying and former mayoral office director Li Wen-zong filed an appeal at the Taipei District Court, requesting the suspension of detention and the lifting of visitation restrictions earlier this week.
Ko did so today.
The Taipei District Court will forward the case to the Taiwan High Court for review.
The District Court ruled on January 2nd to have the four defendants detained for the third time in two weeks after prosecutors protested against their release on bail.
