Celebrity Chris Wang Sentenced to Probation in Assault Case

Media personality Chris Wang has been sentenced to five years of probation
and fined two million NT after being convicted of forcibly molesting a woman.

The Taiwan High Court announced the ruling today, which can still be appealed.

The incident occurred in 2016 when Wang entered the victim's home under false
pretenses and assaulted her.

The attack stopped after the woman resisted.

The court noted that Wang abused the victim's trust, failed to compensate
her, and improperly contacted her and witnesses during the trial.

Wang had initially been sentenced to eight months in prison.

During his appeal, he publicly apologized and requested probation for a
chance to reform.
