In news from and about Taiwan this morning,
Premier Cho Jung-tai has yet to make a decision as to whether to accept the resignation of Labor Minister Ho Pei-shan.
Ho offered to resign on Wednesday evening over her handling of a civil servant's suicide earlier this month.
According to Cabinet Spokeswoman Lee Hui-zhi, the premier plans to first consider the findings of an ongoing investigation into the death of the labor ministry employee before discussing whether Ho should remain in her post.
Lee says Ho's current tasks and questions over accountability within the department have not yet been completed and she currently remains labor minister.
The Legislative Social Welfare and Environmental Hygiene Committee has asked the Control Yuan and the Disciplinary Court to separately look into the suicide of the 39-year-old civil servant.
While the premier earlier this week confirmed that the case has been transferred to the judiciary.
