The Governor of the U-S state of Idaho has arrived in Taiwan to mark the 40th
anniversary of sister-state relations.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it's Brad Little's third visit
to Taiwan since he took office in January 2019.

The ministry says Little will meet with Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim as welll
as Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung and sign a memorandum of understanding to
commemorate 40 years of the sister-state relationship between Taiwan and
Idaho.

Little and members of his delegation will also visit the Ministry of Economic
Affairs and meet with business representatives to explore trade opportunities
between both sides.

A press release issued by the Idaho state government has said the visit to
Taiwan is part of a larger trade mission to the area - and he will be
meetings with potential customers and strategic government officials in the
region.

Little previously visited Taiwan in October of 2019 and again in December of
2022.

Taiwan is Idaho's second-largest export destination - and the state's primary
exports are electrical equipment and machinery.
