Former NTaipei Dept of Ed Staff Sentenced for Fraud

A former New Taipei Department of Education staffer has been sentenced for
fraud.

Officials say the man who worked as an IT manager at the department was
convicted of defrauding businesses by providing false procurement information
and fabricating city projects up for bidding, to obtain consulting fees and
other valuables worth over $12-million NT.

The man also continued to demand monthly consulting fees from businesses for
up to almost two years after resigining from his post.

The man has now been sentenced to 8 years in prison by the Supreme Court, and
the ruling is final.
