US Announces Largest-Ever Military Aid Package for Taiwan

The United States has announced a 567-million dollar military aid package for Taiwan-- in the largest such package to date.
The aid is being provided under a Presidential Drawdown Authority, which allows the U-S to send equipment and weapons from existing stocks to its allied partners in crises.
In a statement from the White House, President Joe Biden delegated the Secretary of State to "direct the drawdown in defense articles and services of the Department of Defense, and military education and training, to provide assistance to Taiwan."
The statement doesn't provide any specific details about this arms package.
However, Defense News last week cited an unnamed U-S official as saying the package would "fund training, stockpiles, anti-armor weapons, air defense, and multi-domain awareness."
The same report said the Pentagon is currently working on another aid package for Taiwan, and the Biden administration plans to complete that... before its term ends in January next year.
