North Link Line Suspended and Suhua Highway Section Closed

The Taiwan Railway Corporation has suspended services between Hualien's Heren
and Chongde station.

According to the railway corporation, the suspension of services on the
section of track on North Link Line is a precaution as Typhoon Krathon nears
the island.

Meanwhile, the Highway Bureau says a landslide is affecting traffic on the
Chongde section of the Suhua Highway following heavy rain overnight.

Officials say eight vehicles and 14 people were trapped by the landslide at
the section of road between Heren and Chongde.

Traffic is currently only being allowed out of villages in the area and the
section of road will be closed to all traffic at noon today.
