Taiwan's military has denied claims made by China's state-run CCTV that the Taiwanese government funded a hacker group, Anonymous 64, to carry out cyberattacks against China.
According to the CCTV report, the group allegedly seized control of websites and billboards in China, Hong Kong, and Macau to spread disinformation and weaken the Chinese Communist Party's governance.
Taiwan's Information, Communications, and Electronic Force Command refuted the allegations, stating its focus is on national defense and cybersecurity.
ICEF-COM emphasized that Taiwan faces cybersecurity threats from China's People's Liberation Army and will continue to strengthen its defenses.
