Prosecutors have brought former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-zhe as a defendant and his wife Chen Pei-qi as a witness back to the Agency Against Corruption for questioning shortly before noon.
The move comes after 4 prosecutors and A-A-C agents spent hours searching Ko's residence this morning.
Speaking to a crowd of reporters before being taken away, Ko demands that the ruling authorities explain what evidence has they got to warrant these actions.
He also says that this is the first time in history that a major political party's headquarters and the chair's office and home are searched, and he wants to know why.
Ko is being investigated for his involvement in the corruption allegations regarding Core Pacific City mall.
Today's development comes soon after the Taipei District Court ruled to detain City Councilor Angela Ying, Core Pacific Group Chairman Shen Qing-jing and Ying's assistant without communications with the outside late last night.
