The Taichung Prosecutors' Office has indicted a former high-ranking police
officer and 32 suspects of a gambling syndicate.

Prosecutors say Lin, who used his capacity as the Taichung Criminal
Investigation Corps Captain...

...leaked investigation details to the syndiacate and gained 44.5 million NT
in illegal profits from 2021 to January this year.

He has been detained incommunicado on corruption, money laundering and fraud
charges since May 2024.

Police have also cracked the syndicate's Jiu-zhou (九州) Gaming Company and
it subsidiaries...

...including a technology firm that supports online payment systems OnePaid
and 1177-Pay for money laundering purposes.

Jiu-zhou operates famous gaming websites including LEO and KUBET in Taiwan,
Vietnam and Cambodia...

...and collected betting money totaling some 44 billion NT.

Police have confiscated 25 pieces of real estate, 19 luxury cars...

...and 1.4 billion NT in cash savings under Jiu-zhou staff members' names.
