Prosecutors searched the office of a company liked to TPP Chair Ko Wen-je ... over allegations concerning false reporting of political expenses during January's presidential election.
T-P-P spokesperson Celina Wu said yesterday morning that agents led by Taipei prosecutors searched Ko's workplace in Songshan District.
However, T-P-P Deputy Secretary-General Hsu Fu later told reporters the search didn't involve TPP premises or Ko's office.
The T-P-P voluntarily handed over documents from the election period to aid the investigation.
Former campaign office deputy chief Vicky Chen admitted to inaccuracies in declared expenses, blaming an outsourced accountant, Tuanmu Cheng, for the errors.
Ko admitted to hiring "unsuitable people" in a letter to T-P-P members yesterday, and confirmed the resignation of a central committee member, Huang Shan-shan, who has also been implicated in the scandal.
Ko is also under investigation for unrelated alleged corruption cases from his time as Taipei mayor.
