U.S. Representative Marilyn Strickland Leads Delegation to Taiwan for

High-Level Talks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed U.S. Representative Marilyn
Strickland...who arrived in Taiwan on Sunday.

Strickland is leading a delegation of three other lawmakers for a five-day
visit.

The group is scheduled to meet with President Lai Ching-te and Vice President
Hsiao Bi-khim to discuss Taiwan-U.S. relations and regional security.

The all-female delegation will also address women's participation in public
affairs.

MOFA highlights the visit as a sign of the U.S. Congress's strong support for
Taiwan and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

The lawmakers have previously supported Taiwan through co-sponsored
legislation focused on Indo-Pacific security.
