Representatives from Mainland China and Taiwan have reached a consensus on the February 14th Kinmen speedboat incident, but details are not being made public at this time.
Both sides said that the talks this morning at the Golden Lake Hotel in Kinmen were conducted in a positive atmosphere.
Afterwards, they all attended a memorial service for the 2 Chinese fishermen who died in the incident.
Coast Guard Director Chang Chung-lung (張忠龍) reiterated the apology for the absence of video evidence and expressed regret for the suffering of the families.
Deputy Mainland Affairs Council chair Liang Wen-chieh (梁文傑) also highlighted the importance of communication and mutual understanding in reaching a satisfactory conclusion.
Liang also hoped for the return of Kinmen fisherman Hu and the Penghu fishing boat "Dajinman 88."
Hu's boat drifted to the Chinese side in March and he's been detained since, while Dajinman and its 8 crew were detained early this month for fishing during Fujian's moratorium period.
