Reactor 1 at Nuclear Power Plant No. 3 to Shut Down Tomorrow

Reactor 1 at Nuclear Power Plant No. 3, operating for 40 years, will shut
down tomorrow, entering decommissioning.

Taipower will follow procedures to reduce load and shut down...with the
Nuclear Safety Commission monitoring the transition to ensure safety.

Reactor 2’s license expires in May next year, with management enhancements
requested by the NSC.

Necessary maintenance will follow Reactor 1’s shutdown, including fuel
removal and equipment inspections.

The decommissioning permit, pending environmental impact assessment approval,
is estimated for issuance after Reactor 2’s shutdown in May 2025.
