Taichung Legislator Yan Kuanheng Found Guilty Of Corruption

(Kao's ruling came at the same time as a similar one down in Taichung,
where...)

Legislator Yan Kuan-heng has been found guilty on corruption charges.

The Taichung District Court today ruled on the charges related to fraudulent
assistant expense claims...

...fake real estate transactions, and illegally occupying land.

Though Yan was found not guilty on the land charges, the court found him
guilty on the other charges...

...with a sentence of 7 years and 10 months for corruption and 6 months for
document forgery.

The KMT expressed support for Yen's appeal, emphasizing that the judgment is
not yet final.

The KMT said any disciplinary action against Yen will be deferred until the
final verdict is confirmed.
