Kaohsiung MRT Red Line Extends to Gangshan Station for Trial Operations

The Kaohsiung MRT announced that the Red Line extension from Gangshan Gaoyi
Station (R24) to Gangshan Station (RK1) will begin trial operations at the
end of the month.

This follows the completion of inspections on June 15th and the issuance of
an operation permit by the Ministry of Transportation yesterday.

The extension adds to the MRT's network, increasing it to just over 44
kilometers and 39 stations.

Gangshan Station connects with Taiwan Railways, integrating MRT, light rail,
public bicycles, and bus services to create a comprehensive green transport
network.

The extension aims to serve approximately 350-thousand residents in Gangshan,
Luzhu (路竹), and Hunei (湖內) areas and connect key industrial zones,
enhancing the public transportation environment in Kaohsiung.
