The Ministry of National Defense is thanking Washington for approving the sales and says the drones with reconnaissance and immediate strike capabilities will help Taiwan respond more quickly to enemy threats.
The package, which is worth an estimated 360-million U-S dollars, involves two types of suicide drones to Taiwan.
The Pentagon has said the proposed sales is expected to help "improve the security of the recipient and assist in maintaining political stability, military balance, and economic progress in the region."
Pentagon officials also say the drones will help improve the recipient's "ability to meet current and future threats."
The Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation Agency says it has notified the Congress of the potential sale and the principal contractors have been identified.
It's the third time since the January 13 presidential and legislative elections, that the Biden administration has approved an arms sale to Taiwan.
