Chou Hung-hsien Nominated as Examination Yuan President

President Lai Ching-te has nominated current Examination Yuan Vice President
Chou Hung-hsien (周弘憲) to lead the Examination Yuan.

Chou has over 16 years of experience in the Examination and Executive Yuans.

Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim announced the nomination today, also nominating
former Minister of Examination Hsu Shu-hsiang (許舒翔) as Examination Yuan
Vice President.

Seven new commissioners were also nominated, including former Deputy Mayor
Teng Chia-Chi (鄧家基), and current commissioners Wang Hsiu-hung (王秀紅) and
Iwan Nawi (伊萬·納威).

The Examination Yuan, one of Taiwan's five government branches, oversees
civil service examinations and related functions.

According to law, the president, vice president, and commissioners serve
four-year terms, with no more than half from the same political party.
