Japan Emphasizes Importance of Peace and Stability in Taiwan Strait

Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary has emphasized the importance of peace in the
Taiwan Strait for Japan's security and global stability.

Yoshimasa Hayashi indicated that Japan would directly communicate this stance
to China...

...particularly during the upcoming China–Japan–South Korea trilateral
summit next week.

The statement comes in response to China’s military launching major drills
near Taiwan in what China is calling "punishment".

Hayashi expressed hope for a peaceful resolution of Taiwan-related issues
through dialogue...

...and affirmed Japan's commitment to working closely with the United States
and other allies...

...to diplomatically convey their unified position.
