Firefighters have rescued the cat owned by a woman who died while attempting to save it from a building in Hualien during the April 3rd earthquake.
The earthquake had caused the partial collapse of the Uranus Building, and the building is currently undergoing demolition.
Firefighters yesterday noticed an orange cat in a window on the seventh floor, leading to a rescue effort for this cat and another discovered shortly after.
The second cat was identified as belonging to a 33-year-old woman, surnamed Kang, a high school teacher who had unfortunately died after re-entering the building to save her pet during an aftershock.
The rescue of Kang's cat, amidst the ongoing demolition, was carried out with the help of a ladder truck, allowing the cat to be safely brought down.
