Global Support Pours in for Taiwan After Hualien Earthquake

Following the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Hualien, countries worldwide have
extended their support and condolences.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, remembering Taiwan's aid during
Japan's own disasters, pledged assistance.

The American Institute in Taiwan and China's Taiwan Affairs Office also
offered condolences and support.

Statements from Guatemala and Paraguay emphasized solidarity, with Guatemalan
President Bernardo Arevalo and Paraguayan President Santiago Pena expressing
their nations' readiness to assist.

Canadian province British Columbia's Premier David Eby shared his thoughts
for the people of Taiwan, underscoring international support during this
challenging time.

This global response highlights the widespread concern and willingness to aid
Taiwan in its recovery efforts.

The magnitude-7.2 earthquake this morning has led to 9 deaths and 821
injuries so far.

The Central Weather Administration has recorded 83 aftershocks measured at
4.5 or above in magnitude since the earthquake struck.
