Lantern Festival Boosts Tainan Economy

Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-zhi says the 2024 Taiwan Lantern Festival boosted the
city's economy.

According to Huang, the festival attracted a total of 15.2-million visitors
and generated 24.7-billion N-T in tourism-related revenue

Huang says a city government survey shows that accommodation, transportation,
dining, shopping, and entertainment expenses during the festival resulted in
average visitor expenditure of 1,630 N-T per person.

The survey also found that earnings registered by the city's accommodation
sector for last year reached a historic high of 12.8-billion N-T.
