Chunghua Telecom says they have launched an investigation after sensitive documents were leaked and sold on the dark web.
They say the 1.7 terabytes of leaked data comprises information from over 7000 databases.
Those include data from government procurement contracts and key national security units, such as the military, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Coast Guard.
The telecom company today said they have activated security measures and are communicating with the government.
Chunghua is investigating the cause of the breach and said the incident has not significantly impacted the company's operations.
