The High-Speed Rail Corporation says passengers numbers hit a record-high of 73.03 million last year.
According to the rail network, that resulted in it reporting 49.8-billion N-T in revenue and a pretax net profit 9.7-billion N-T for 2023.
Both the revenue and a pretax net profit are the highest since the high-speed rail began operations in 2007.
However, the High-Speed Rail Corporation says although it broke all previous revenue and a pretax net profit records, it also saw increased operational costs last year.
The corporation says maintenance costs registered an 2.9-billion N-T increase last year from 2022, and staffing costs rose by 19-per cent last year.
