Taipei Health Dept Explains Rising Medical Registration Fees

The Taipei City Department of Health is providing details on possible factors behind the recent wave of increases in registration fees at medical institutions.
Official data shows that the number of hospitals with registration fees exceeding $150NT have increased sharply last year, with 205 clinics applying to authorities to make the adjustments.
And the department says another 94 institutions have already applied to raise their registration fees so far this year
Officials say the hikes are mainly a reflection of rising prices overall, including the cost of rent, water, and personnel.
But they also say it cannot be ruled out that some hospitals are adjusting their fees to supplement National Health Insurance income.
