The Taoyuan District Court has ordered a former agent for the Rakuten Monkeys' cheerleading team detained.
The move comes after Stanley Chen, former Monkeys' general manager Pu Wei-qing and four cheerleaders were listed as suspects by prosecutors as part of an investigation into tax evasion.
Pu has been released on bail of 500,000 N-T, while the four cheerleaders were released without bail after questioning.
The suspects were questioned after authorities raided 12 locations.
According to the Taoyuan District Prosecutors' Office, Chen and Pu helped the cheerleaders secure outside jobs without the authorization of the baseball team franchise and then falsely reported their payments for appearances on television and online shows.
Prosecutors say Chen and Pu netted over 20-million N-T in illegal gains.
The Agency Against Corruption is also reportedly involved in the investigation, as it includes probes into several government agencies.
All of those questioned in connection with the case are facing charges of breach of trust and of violating the Tax Collection Act.
