FactCheck Center Clears Rumors on Hsiao Bi-khim’s Dual Citizenship

Recent rumors regarding DPP vice presidential candidate Hsiao Bi-khim holding
dual U.S. and Taiwanese citizenship have been refuted by Taiwan's FactCheck
Center.

The Center confirmed that Hsiao renounced her U.S. citizenship in 2002.

Social media rumors had surfaced, citing a 2000 news report stating Hsiao had
not given up her U.S. citizenship while holding a presidential office advisor
position.

The Center labeled the rumors as 'false' and based on outdated information.

Additionally, they confirmed the public notice of Hsiao's renunciation of
U.S. citizenship in federal government records.

The case of TPP vice presidential candidate Cynthia Wu's dual citizenship was
also mentioned, with indications that she had already renounced her U.S.
citizenship.
