The K-M-T's presidential and vice presidential candidates have reiterated the
party's warning that January's presidential election is a choice between war
or peace.

Speaking at campaign rallies this past weekend, K-M-T vice presidential
candidate, Jaw Shau-kong told supporters if the D-P-P wins the election, it
would likely lead to war with China.

Jaw claimed "whole generations will lose everything they have fought for if
Lai Ching-te wins the presidency" and he went on to say that "if people want
peace, prosperity, a corruption-free government and cross-strait stability,
they should vote for the K-M-T."

Meanwhile, K-M-T presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih told supporters that
concern about cross-conflict is the main reason he chose to join the
presidential race - saying his main goal is to protect Taiwan with his life,
and to ensure cross-strait peace.

Hou officially announced Jaw as his running mate on Friday... after the
K-M-T's plan to form a joint presidential ticket with the Taiwan People's
Party's chair and presidential candidate Ko Wen-je fell apart.
