The D-P-P's presidential candidate Lai Ching-te and his running mate, Hsiao Bi-khim have registered that candidacies with the Central Election Commission.
Speaking after registering for the ballot, Lai told reporters that both he and Hsiao are "determined and confident" about the winning the election.
And he went on to say that they also have a "sense of mission for Taiwan's future direction" and that "represent responsible and steady governance."
The presidential and vice presidential candidates have until Friday to register with the Central Election Commission.
A spokesperson for Terry Gou's campaign office has said the Hon Hai founder and his running mate, Tammy Lai are preparing to register.
However, there has been no word from either the K-M-T or the Taiwan People's Party as to when their respective candidates will register.
