Montana State Governor Arrives in Taiwan

The governor on the U-S state of Montanais in Taiwan for a six-day visit.

Greg Gianforte was greeted by Jason Ma, the deputy director-general of
foreign ministry's Department of North American Affairs, on his arrival at
the Taoyuan International Airport.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gianforte is scheduled to hold talks this
week will meet with President Tsai Ing-wen as part of efforts to enhance the
bilateral partnership between his state and Taiwan.

Gianforte and his delegation will also be meeting with other senior
government officials, including Premier Chen Chien-jen and Deputy Foreign
Minister Roy Lee as well business representatives.

The visit is Gianforte's first overseas trip since he assumed office.
