Kaohsiung Establishes Sister City Ties with Eswatini's Capital

Kaohsiung City has forged a sister city relationship with Mbabane, the
capital of Eswatini.

The agreement was signed by Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Qi-mai, who is accompanying
President Tsai Ing-wen on her diplomatic visit to the African nation.

This partnership aims to boost bilingual education, youth engagement, and
agriculture.

This development marks Kaohsiung's 38th sister city and comes as Taiwan and
Eswatini celebrate 55 years of diplomatic relations.

Mayor Chen expressed optimism for future collaborations, including bringing
qualified young people from Eswatini to Kaohsiung to work as English teaching
staff.

The two cities also plan to deepen exchanges in areas like smart cities and
public health.

The visit wraps up on September 8th.
