Danhai Light Rail to Increase Frequency

The Danhai Light Rail is set to run more trains starting next week.

The New Taipei Metro Corporation says ridership on the line rose by
15-percent compared to the same period last year, and frequency of trains
will be increased during peak travel hours.

Officials say starting August 28th, trains will arrive every 4-to-6 minutes
between 6:30am and 8:30am on weekdays.

And in the evenings, from 5pm until 8pm, trains will arrive every 5-10
minutes.

The company says passenger numbers have shown steady growth as the island
recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the change will help the system
better serve commuters.
