The Danhai Light Rail is set to run more trains starting next week.
The New Taipei Metro Corporation says ridership on the line rose by 15-percent compared to the same period last year, and frequency of trains will be increased during peak travel hours.
Officials say starting August 28th, trains will arrive every 4-to-6 minutes between 6:30am and 8:30am on weekdays.
And in the evenings, from 5pm until 8pm, trains will arrive every 5-10 minutes.
The company says passenger numbers have shown steady growth as the island recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, and the change will help the system better serve commuters.
