Meteorologist Daniel Wu says the periphery of Typhoon Khanun and formation of a southwesterly monsoon will bring rain and unstable weather conditions to much of Taiwan this week.
Wu says northern parts of the island will see rain from tomorrow, as the storm approaches Japan's Ryukyu Islands before moving in a west-northwesterly direction towards China's Zhejiang province.
While the storm's trajectory is still unclear, but the weather expert says if it continues on its current predicted path, its outer rim could could bring showers to the north and south.
The storm is currently forecast to be closest to Taiwan on Wednesday, as it heads towards China's Zhijiang province, where it's expected to make landfall on Friday.
Wu also says that Wednesday through this coming weekend, the formation of the southwest monsoon is forecast to bring showers or thunderstorms in the western half of the island, and possibly severe storms to the southwest.
