A U-S congressional delegation has arrived in Taiwan for a three-day visit.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegation is being headed
by Representative Mike Rogers, who chairs the House Armed Services Committee.

The ministry says the nine-member delegation from the U-S House of
Representatives is one of the largest congressional groups to have visited
Taiwan in recent years.

According to the American Institute in Taiwan, the delegation will meet with
President Tsai Ing-wen and other senior government officials to discuss
regional security, trade and investment, and other significant issues of
mutual interest.

A-I-T says the delegation's trip to Taiwan this week is "part of a larger
visit to the Indo-Pacific region."

Presidential Office Spokeswoman Kolas Yotaka says they will be meeting with
President Tsai later today.
