Sexual harassment cases at Taipei's Parks and Street Lights Office

More victims of sexual harassment have come forward, and this time Taipei city government's Parks and Street Lights Office is involved.
At a press conference today, two female workers accused a safety guard at the office of verbal harassment, saying that he's suspected of sexually harassing six or more female coworkers within five years.
They expressed disappointment with the handling of their complaints by the department's superiors, who not only showed favor toward the perpetrator but also suppressed the victims' accounts.
They said despite organizing gender equality meetings, the department's chief secretary refused to attend the meetings.
In response, the Parks Office says it received complaints from three employees in December last year and transferred the guard elsewhere 6 days later.
After investigations carried out by the gender equality committee, the Office punished the guard by imposing 2 official reprimands on him.
The office says it'll reopen the procedures if it receives more sexual harassment reports.
