DPP Officials Apologize for Sexual Harrassment Scandals
Posted on 2023-06-02 20:08:13
DPP officials have formally apologized for a series of sexual harrassment
scandals that have emerged from within party ranks.

DPP Secretary-General Hsu Li-ming and other officials held a press conference
earlier today, and apologized on behalf of the party for the lack of action
taken by party officers after receiving reports of sexual harrassment by
members or associates.

The party's deputy secretary-general Xu Jia-tian resigned yesterday after it
came to light that she dissusaded a former party worker from seeking a full
investigation after allegedly being sexually harassed by a film director.

Today, another former party worker posted similar accusations, which she said
was met by a similar response from then-youth committee head Tsai Mu-ling.

Tsai has resigned from his current position of secretary to the deputy Labor
Minister today.

Now, Secretary-General Hsu vowed a full investigation into the incidents, and
says the party deeply regrets any pain it may have caused victims and others.

And the DPP has promised to conduct a full review of its sexual harrassment
reporting procedures, and set up an email address specificially for reporting
such incidents.
