The Ministry of Economic Affairs says the government will offer 6.7 billion NT in subsidies to Nvidia to set up an A-I research and development center in Taiwan.
The M-O-E-A says the California-based tech company will invest another 17.6 billion NT in the facility for the development of artificial intelligence.
The center is expected to hire 1-thousand people, and the company will also take part in cultivating talents in local universities.
The MOEA says the five-year project makes Nvidia the second American multinational semiconductor company to receive subsidies from the "Pilot Enterprise R&D Deep Dive Program" launched by the Ministry.
