CTi News has won the lawsuit against the NCC in its license renewal case.
The Taipei High Administrative Court has revoked the National Communications Commission's ruling back on November 18, 2020 to reject the issuance of a new operation license for CTi News.
The cable news channel was forced to shut down one month later when its previous license expired and withdraw from channel 52.
The highly controversial ruling caused strong criticism from the opposition KMT and many of the channel's viewers, saying it was politically motivated as the news station inclined to support the blue camp.
Meanwhile CTi News filed a lawsuit against the NCC, arguing that the ruling was biased and based on flawed procedures, and that it infringed upon freedom of speech.
The High Court today orders the NCC to "take necessary measures according to the verdict."
