In news from and about Taiwan this morning,
Deputy Economics Minister Lin Chuan-neng says the government plans to do more to let the world know that Taiwan is safe and stable.
According to Lin, geopolitical developments cannot be controlled, but the government will continue to help Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing maintain its core competitiveness and create value in the global supply chain.
The statement comes after Warren Buffett last week indicated that he chose to cut his stake in T-S-M-C because of rising geopolitical tensions between China and the United States and China and Taiwan.
The deputy economics minister says he expects T-S-M-C to continue driving technological development in Taiwan and the government will continue to tell the world that Taiwan is "safe and stable."
Meanwhile, National Development Council deputy minister Shih Keh-her says he believes Buffett, as an investor, was expressing his opinion about T-S-M-C's important role in the global supply chain while also emphasizing the importance of Taiwan's security.
