Three diesel engine trains will be making their final trip, ahead of retirement tomorrow.
The Taiwan Railways Administration says the DR-2800, 2900, and 3000 will be taken out of service, with the new EMU3000 set to take over duties from the 3 diesel engine trains.
And the TRA has arranged two final commemorative trips tomorrow, along its eastern trunk line, to mark the over 40 years that the trains have been operating in Taiwan.
Officials say the engines were purchased from Japan in 1982, and were the first Tze-Chiang Express trains along the eastern trunk line with air conditioning.
