Hotai Motors and Shihlin Electric Create Joint Smart Charging Venture

The MOEA has announced that Hotai Motors and Shihlin Electric are jointly
investing in a smart charging service company named “Gochabar”.

The two companies are investing in EV control module company eTreego, which
obtained charging technology patents from its founder Industrial Technology
Research Institute.

eTreego already owns 60-percent of Taiwan’s EV charging poles, and aims to
export to Europe, Japan, Southeast Asian, and American markets.

Gochabar seeks to provide integrated services in three major markets:
community buildings, enterprise construction, and public infrastructure.

Gochabar is expected to help Taiwan’s industry build its smart charging
service hardware and software capabilities.

In the first phase of the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ plan, 7,800 charging
stations will be built by 2025, and the second phase will run from 2026 to
2030.
