Health Minister Chen Shih-chung says the Central Epidemic Command Center has instructed local governments to inspect 465 quarantine hotels as a response to three coronavirus cluster infections.
The clusters have been detected in hotels in Taipei and Taoyuan and currently involve nine cases.
According to Chen, 395 of the quarantine hotels have been so far been inspected and some 100 of them have been ordered to address problems identified by local health authorities.
Chen says the epidemic command center will also begin identifying rooms in quarantine hotels that have structural issues that could result in disease transmission.
The hotels will be then banned from using those rooms.
A total of 88 Omicron variant infections have been recorded so far here in Taiwan.
Health officials say 50 of those patients have had mild symptoms, while the other 38 are asymptotic.
